Soft-, hardware and acoustics

We get together for a so-called Team Friday every two weeks and test out crazy ideas.

Thomas, iOS Developer

Karriere - Team - Software - Thomas
Which technologies do you use in software development?

The technology stack is quite broad. It starts right at the top of the apps with Swift and Kotlin, and some also use JavaScript. We have our own Java-based backend infrastructure. C++ is mainly written on the embedded area mainly is written. But we also use Linux kernel and have to be familiar with USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers for troubleshooting. So there is something for everyone!

How do you organise your project work?

We employ flexible methods and corresponding tools like Jira and Confluence. Since we are an international team, English is our project language. Most of the communication takes place in our team chat because not all colleagues are always at the office at the same time.

What is the most important attribute to have if you want to work in software development?

Curiosity and stamina. You always have to leave "your" world and think outside the box. Our systems are highly complex. The challenge is to always find a solid solution that fits into the existing architecture and doesn’t bring negative side effects.

Which areas of development do you cover?

We build prototypes, test them from the UX point of view, implement new features, maintain existing software, make adaptations for new hardware, automate our hardware and software tests and help with support for complex customer issues.

Why is working in software development especially fun at Teufel?

The wide range of topics that we work with makes the work interesting. We get together for a so-called Team Friday every two weeks and test out crazy ideas. Despite the start-up atmosphere, Teufel is also a very family-friendly employer.

We are designing the products and technology of the future.
